Building Research-Driven State Movements (2020)

We built Race Class Narrative Action (RCNA) on the belief that strategic communications and mobilization are most powerful and effective when rooted in ongoing, sustained organizing led by state-based multiracial coalitions. 

Grounded in the Race Class Narrative (originated through a collaboration between Ian Haney López, Anat Shenker-Osorio, Lake Research Partners, Brilliant Corners, SEIU and Demos), our team saw the 2020 presidential election as a crucial opportunity to build alignment and capacity around a shared narrative framework across key Midwestern states. Here’s what we accomplished.
